A World War I casualty group awarded to 2148 trooper David Forshaw, of The Royal Horse Guards who was killed on the 4th January 1917 aged 21. He is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery. This lot comprising medals consisting of 1914-15 Star, 1914-18 medal and Great War of Civilisation medal, all in original packets of issue, also including is his memorial plaque complete with original cardboard packet. Also included are photographs of Trooper Forshaw in parade uniform consisting of breast plate, sword and helmet, newspaper cuttings, numerous other photographs including one of him on horseback with three others, a memorial card with enclosed photograph, memorial scroll with original cardboard sleeve, a memorial poster with a picture of Etaples cemetery etc (af), Trooper Forshaw`s stick with his initials DF and RHG carved onto the shaft, a large oval framed photograph of Trooper Forshaw and two others etc. Included in this lot is some research regarding his death and including photographs of the cemetery etc (illustrated)

The Rolling Stones Two art boards for the preliminary design of the inner sleeve artwork for the Rolling Stones' controversial 1978 album Some Girls, each consisting of a layout of cropped black and white photographic celebrity portraits mounted on card, a sheet of clear acetate overlay with superimposed cut-out photographic portraits of the band members and a sheet of tracing paper inscribed with the outlines of faces corresponding to the cutouts and celebrity portraits underneath, both -- 20x15in. 1950/51 Scotland v Denmark international No. 5 football shirt worn by Willie Woodburn: Navy blue long sleeve shirt with the Scotland crest sewn onto the chest and embroidered with "S v D 1950/51" and No 5 sewn on the back made by Umbro. Scotland played Denmark at Hampden Park on 12 May winning 3-1. William `Willie` Woodburn was born in Edinburgh 1919; he played for Edinburgh Ashton before signing as a professional for Rangers in October 1937. He made his debut on 20 August 1938 in a 2-2 draw in the League against Motherwell. After the war he established himself in the Rangers side and won four League Championships with the club. He appeared in the first Scottish League Cup Final in April 1947 when Rangers beat Aberdeen 4-0. He won 24 caps making his debut in a 1-1 draw with England at Wembley. He is also an inductee of the Scottish Football Hall of Fame and the Rangers F.C. Hall of Fame but his career was cut short when he received a life ban from the game for indiscipline. The England international Tom Finney, one of many well-known forwards Woodburn had encountered in his international career, described the ban as "a grave injustice". The SFA revoked their punishment three years later, but by then Woodburn was 37 and his playing career was over.
