A 19th Century Indonesian Luju Alang, Sumatra, the 53cm machete type blade with a narrow fuller running along the back edge, with white metal collar and bone hulu hilt, the two piece wood scabbard bound with bands of sheet silver, some missing; two Early 20th Century Indian Ornamental White Metal Dhals, with foliate engraved black and brown enamelled decoration, each 27.5 cm diameter (3). Orange rust pitting to part of blade which makes it difficult to remove the scabbard. Tip of scabbard is missing a piece of wood, some silver bands missing, Dhals - Both with general signs of wear commensurate with age but no significant issues.

Each unit developed elaborate traditions of visual art, most striking of all the flags shown here. These comprised of bold naïve imagery appliqued onto a cotton background, they commonly depict indigenous proverbs which relate closely to the commissioning Asafo group. With the British conquest of the region in 1856 many Asafo groups incorporated versions of the Union Jack into the flag to enhance the power of the imagery.As seen here, the mythical giant Asebu Amanfi was often depicted with multiple heads.

Vintage 1940's Case XX WWII Air Force/Navy Pilots Bolo Machete Brush Survival Folding Knife. The Case XX V44 is a US Army Air Force folding machete issued during WW2. The v-44 bolo machete was part of the B-4 emergency bailout kit and in Pacific Theater Craft. The kit came in a square canvas container which also included other survival items such as a fishing kit, signal mirror and was normally attached to the parachute harness.

A Late XX Century British Army Survival knife with small machete style blade, dated 1993 and with W.D. Arrow, light pitting on blade and with wooden grips in its webbing camo scabbard dated 1996.
Cross hatched bakelite riveted grips, showing arrow issue stamps to rivets. 38 cm long machete blade, showing factory sharpening to edge. Light pitting overall, but generally good overall. Dept. Defence stamped and dated 45 DC (Die Casters Pty Ltd). Comes with the original faded olive drab coloured canvas scabbard with brass securing tabs and belt hook & grip snaps (securer removed). Good original piece.
