SUFFOLK. ), these are held in a case with a medal ribbon bar for the same medals, two Officers bronze cap badges to the Suffolk Regiment, a set of Suffolk Regiment tunic buttons, two sets of Captains rank stars, and a Suffolk Regiment Old Comrades Association lapel badge, also included in the grouping is a Soldiers Service and Pay Book to 5827180 George Whight, an Officers Release Book to 325958 Temporary Captain George Arthur Whight of the Suffolk Regiment, Officers Release Certificate, War Office record of the Commisioned Service of Captain George Arthur Whight, Reserve Officers recall form, a language instruction book in Kiswahili for the East Africa Command, a leaflet, air dropped to Allied prisoners of war of the Japanese, explaining in English and Japanese that the war had ended explaining what they should do until Allied troops could get to them, a book, The History of the Suffolk Regiment 1928-1946, two leather bound officers canes, one of which conceals a sharp metal spike, and a British army machete dated 1943 and stamped with the broad arrow and maker mark J.J.B. , all held in a brown leather suitcase, Captain George Arthur Whight was promoted to Lieutenant in the Suffolk Regiment in 1944 after service in the ranks, he served in the Middle East for a short period then in East Africa for two years prior to his promotion

WW2 Australian Army Artillery billhook machete. Features fixed pin, broad arrow stamped grips with some wood loss to right grip. Full tang, neutral non maker marked 25cm x 7.5cm across belly, billhook blade with sharpened edge. At 40cm the billhook was a standard artillery clearance tool for service between WW2 & the Vietnam War.
WW2 Royal Australian Air Force pilot’s survival knife machete by East Bros. Features aluminium metal riveted grips. 19.5cm long makers stamped blade, with hook canopy breaker end of the factory sharpened edge. Dark brown leather scabbard with leather leg straps has missing the hilt strap grip fastener. Scabbard back stamped 1944 SYDNEY JE broad arrow.
WW2 Luftwaffe pilot’s survival machete by Alcosa of Solingen. Features wooden grips with 2 steel screw pins, cleaned brass hammer flat face pommel and guard. 40.7cm large bright bowie blade, carries the Alex Coppel Alexanderwerks AWS scales logo & ALCOSO over Solingen trademark. Front edge has been field sharpened. Comes with well blued steel scabbard with traces of yellow letters and 1942 date, missing one throat screw. These 53cm long machetes were part of the aircrew survival packs in aircraft such as the Heinkell-111 and as such are extremely rare & highly collectable.

Model and maker stamped WOODSMAN PAL with trademark details. Original age stained canvas scabbard has working zip and button downs & carries the standard woodsman sharpening stone. A formidable fighting machete.

Full tang 39.5cm blade, 26cm from hilt, maker stamped CASE XX. Folding bladed machete features black composite handle with fixed metal rivets and integrated steel cross guard. Blade, 25.5cm from hilt, maker stamped CAMILLUS. Full extended length 40cm. Protective black painted metal blade sheaths cover the sharpened blades of both machetes.
Survival machete (folding). These were used by the US Air Force during WWII and by the RAF late into WWII. It was last procured by the RAF in 1951, the apparent difference between the British and American Versions is the British has a lanyard ring fitted. This example does not. See Page 110 British and Commonwealth Military Knives by Ron Flook. The blade is difficult to open.

Overall length 49.5cm. Complete with brown leather scabbard, again Union of South African inspection marking along with maker mark and date for "Robco Ltd, Montreal, 1942".

A Second World War Zuckerman Helmet, with grey/blue paint, stencilled H.F.P. in black, the leather and webbing liner held by lacing, the inner brim stamped A.M.C./3/1941; three Folding Pocket Knives, one with Marlin spike, each with chequered black plastic grip scales; two Steel Folding Pocket Knives, stamped with broad arrow/R.B.S./1954 and 1955; a Second World War Machete, with rusted blade and projecting hooked tang, two piece riveted wood grip and crushed leather scabbard; a Kukri, the horn grip with brass bolster and pommel, with leather scabbard (8). 1 - Helmet rust pitted to crown. 2 - Pitting to blades. 3 - Good clean condition. 4 - orange rust pitting to blade and projecting tang 5 - Rust pitting and black patching to blade, leather scabbard shabby and missing the two sharpening knives.

An early 20th century clockwork automation Creeping Baby Doll toy, hollow cast moulded head, painted blue eyes, rosy cheeks, bonnet, mounted upon a cloth covered moulded paper machete body, articulated limbs, labelled patented March 14th and August 29th 1871, approx 30cm long, With the turn of a key, this doll appears to crawl along a flat surface. Inside the doll’s body is a spring-driven mechanical movement, which actuates the arms and legs in imitation of crawling. but the doll actually rolls along on two concealed spiked wheels.Its date and place of manufacture are not known with certainty. The doll was based on two patents: No. 112,550 granted 14 March 1871 to Robert J. Clay of New York, N.Y.; and No. 118,435 granted 29 August 1871 to Clay’s associate George Pemberton Clarke. Clay’s firm, the Automatic Toy Company, was founded about 1870 and purchased by Edward Ives in 1874. With his brother-in-law Cornelius Blakeslee Ives established a business for making clockwork toys in Bridgeport, Connecticut, that operated from 1872 to 1932.
