WW2 British Staffordshire Yeomanry (Queen's Own Royal Regiment) Grouping: Machete. 37cm single edged blade. Maker marked & dated "S&J Kitchin Ltd Sheffield 1943". Overall length 51cm. Red composition grip. Complete with brown leather scabbard maker marked and dated "RL 1942". Scratched name and number to leather "Kelly 114867". Soldier's kit bag marked "542063" "Sgt Kelly. RA": Regimental history of the QORR covering 1914-18 and 1939-45, hardbacked with photos and maps published by Gale & Polden 1950: Horse Blanket with hand embroidered name of horse "Sandy" in red and white cotton, maker's label removed: Africa made Horse Whip with inlaid Mother of Pearl decoration, with plaited hide grip and plated whip, 40cm long, overall 85cm: Pair of Spurs, no makers marks or date: 9/1943 dated Boiled Sweets Ration Tin: Water bottle Sterilizing Outfit, complete with both bottles with cork stoppers: large multi part construction Union Flag approx 7ft x 3.5ft: plus three original photos of Sgt Kelly with his horse and comrades, one taken in Africa in Feb 1940.

To include a Brown Bess socket bayonet (rusted), 2x 19th century powder shot flasks in leather and brass, an antique shotgun cartridge making tool and a 20th century (likely WWII era) folding machete. Mixed Lot: German model 1884/98 knife bayonet, 1915-18 production, stamped to the ricasso with a crown and maker's name Erfurt (file cut to both sides of blade and lacking grips), length 38cm, together with an Indian WWII period machete with squared off single edged blade stamped GCF, 45 and with further stamped wooden grips, 497, and a further crude example with Government broad arrow, B44, length 49cm each, various dates and makers, (lacking scabbards) (3)
A scarce Vietnam War period Survival/Fighting machete, DE straight edge spatulate blade 7”, marked “The Stecher Haxit, Taylor, Eye Witness, Sheffield, England” with US, Canadian and British Patent Nos, at forte and “Chopping Edge” and “Cutting Edge” on each edge at tip, plain wooden grips secured by 3 steel studs, in its leather sheath with belt loop and hilt securing strap (broken).
