DJANGO UNCHAINED (2012) - Django Freeman's (Jamie Foxx) Shot Glasses and Broomhilda von Shaft's (Kerry Washington) Freedom Papers with Production Ephemera - Django Freeman's (Jamie Foxx) shot glasses and Broomhilda von Shaft's (Kerry Washington freedom papers with assorted production ephemera from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Django had a shot in Calvin Candie's (Leonardo DiCaprio) Julius Caesar room at the Cleopatra Club, where Candie hosted a Mandingo fight before Django convinced him to sign freedom papers for Broomhilda, his wife. Created by property master Hope Parrish, this lot consists of two clear glass shot glasses; three folded freedom papers, including one sealed with a red wax seal, featuring both printed text and the handwritten signatures of Candie and his lawyer Leonide Moguy (Dennis Christopher); four red wax pens with typed instructions; three cream muslin Red Apple tobacco pouches; a package of Bugler cigarette papers; a metal and red resin Golden Melody harmonica; and a dynamite bundle made of wooden rods wrapped in wax dipped paper and tied together with twine. This lot exhibits tarnishing on the harmonica and grime on the shot glasses. ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST (1968) - The Costumi d'Arte Collection: Frank's (Henry Fonda) Screen-matched Suit - Frank's (Henry Fonda) screen-matched suit from Sergio Leone's epic spaghetti western Once Upon a Time in the West. The role of the sadistic villain Frank was a departure from the everyman hero roles Fonda was best known for. Frank wore his suit when he met Harmonica (Charles Bronson) in a saloon, and then when Harmonica saved Frank from being ambushed by his own men in the street. The suit screen matches through the placement of the pinstripe pattern on the jacket. This lot comes from the archives of the Italian costume company Costumi d'Arte and is part of their S.A.F.A.S collection as it was originally made by the tailoring house.The costume comprises a black wool tailcoat with a white pinstripe pattern and an interior handwritten label reading "Fonda"; and a pair of black woollen trousers, also labelled "Fonda". Both pieces are size "50" and each has interior labels from Italian costume supplier Costumi d'Arte Peruzzi. This item is likely to have been rented to numerous productions over the decades since filming. Some minor modifications may have taken place during that time, including material around the jacket collar that appears to have been changed from leather to silk.Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the archives of the famed Italian costume company Costumi d'Arte.
