Der Physiker bereiste mit seinen neuen Instrumenten "Euphon" und "Klavizylinder" unter allgemeiner Anerkennung, u.a. auch Goethes, alle größeren Städte Europas. - Vgl. First edition. - With 5 folded plates. - Beethoven mentions the author in issue 24 of the Sketchbooks from February 1823, when Chladni's writings "Die Akustik" and "Neue Beiträge zur Akustik" were displayed. Here the author deals with the invention of new keyboard instruments based on the principle that, like the glass harmonica common at the time, glass rods wetted with water are bowed longitudinally; this produces acoustically audible sound vibrations. The physicist traveled with his new instruments "Euphon" and "Klavizylinder" under general recognition, among other things also Goethes, all larger cities of Europe. Minimally stained, last two leafs old restored.
