A black plastic trigger handle is mounted at the back, with orange triggers. A carry handle juts out from the middle of the device for support during use. STARSHIP TROOPERS - Sugar Watkins' (Seth Gilliam) Screen-Matched Live-Fire Morita MK I Sniper RifleSugar Watkins' (Seth Gilliam) screen-matched, live-fire Morita MK I sniper rifle from Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi satire Starship Troopers. This sniper scope-equipped rifle screen-matches to when Mobile Infantry soldier Watkins wielded it in battle with the arachnid Warriors on Planet P. Unique patterns of green bug splatter can be seen on the side of the rifle. This futuristic hero rifle is constructed from a custom-made fiberglass shell housing a rifle that has been modified to fire blanks for motion picture use. Blank-firing Morita rifles were used on set for their realism, especially in close-ups by principal actors. The two fiberglass clamshells are painted green and secured together with metal screws. It features a functional trigger and a black nylon shoulder strap on the left side along with a black resin dummy scope, custom made for the film, affixed to the top grip with screws. The scope features a detachable foam-filled dummy eyepiece which can be affixed to the back section. Also included is a Letter of Authenticity from the film's armorer and weapons coordinator, Robert "Rock" Galotti. During filming, Watkins' sniper rifle likely had an AC-556 rifle (the full-auto version of the Mini-14) the majority of the time. After production, a semi-auto Ruger Mini-14 was installed so the piece could be transferred. The Mini-14 was also used on the production of the film. The piece exhibits signs of use and wear throughout including some separation of the clamshell elements and scope as well as extensive production-added markings and green blood. While it was modified to fire blanks, it is still a firearm, and requires transfer through an FFL dealer. Gebrauchtes, schön erhaltenes Dragonergewehr M 1891mit 60% teils abgegriffener originaler Brünierung, wobei der Magazinkasten keine Brünierung mehr aufweist. Der Laufansatz ist mit dem Zarenadler und darunter mit den Buchstaben des Abnahmebeamten DK sowie der Herstellerangabe des Waffenwerkes in Ishewsk versehen. Darunter befindet sich die Jahresangabe 1897r. für das Fertigungsjahr sowie die Seriennummer 232790 und das Logo Bogen mit Pfeil. Auf der Verschlusshülse wiederrum zaristischer Adler mit Zeichen D K sowie WG für das Wiener Arsenal. The stock bears the S.No. 35138 on the upper side of the butt plate and on the right side of the butt next to the Russian stock stamp the additional German stamp eagle with circumscription: " DEUTSCHES REICH", as a sign of a weapon captured by the Germans. Specimen in very nice original matching numbers condition with over 80% original bluing. This on the upper ring and towards the muzzle, somewhat spotted. Attachments such as rings magazine box etc.somewhat rubbed. Bright lock case (housing) and breech, somewhat dull in places. Acceptances and S.No. "10" on all parts. Case markings as follows: Case top: crown above "SPANDAU" and "1914". Case left side: military proof heraldic eagle linea, next to it serial number "10" and "Gew. 98". Case right side: usual military proofs in the form of a gothic letter under crown. Barrel designation as follows: Left side: S.No. "10". Top of barrel: "S" for pointed cartridge (chamber set up for S - cartridge). Upper ring, lower ring, butt plate and magazine box as well as magazine box cover in marked with military acceptance (Gothic letter under crown) and S.No. "10". The beautifully preserved stock with military acceptance marks and serial number "10". Stamp plate of old type without troop stamp and with military acceptance only as well as a recess on the stock at the level of the chamber stem button. The stock has been minimally stripped over the years, but the serial number and stamp are still clearly visible.
