A RUSSIAN SILVER MODEL OF A RABBIT, Moscow c.1890, mark of Julius Alexandrovitch Rappoport, modelled in a crouching position with ears flattened, the body chased to produce fur, with garnet-set eyes, (c.56.92g). 7.5cm long, 4cm high Julius Alexandrovitch Rappoport (1864-1916) was born in Lithuania but trained in the art of silversmithing in Berlin, later moving to St. Petersburg to open his first workshop in 1883. Just three years later, Rappoport found himself living and working in Moscow as a craftsman for Fabergé, soon becoming Fabergé’s chief supplier of large silver objects.Whilst Rappoport created a wide array of silver items, he is most fondly known for his decorative animal pieces. His naturalistic approach allowed him to generate a vitality within his works, transforming the cold metal into joyful expressions of craftsmanship.

Reimer was born in Pernau, Estonia and at one time was the senior workmaster for Fabergé, making small enamelled and gold and silver objects. Gorianov ran his own workshop, acting as an 'occasional supplier' for Fabergé (von Habsburg, G., Fabergé: Imperial Craftsman and his World, London 2000, p. 288).

An early 20th Century Emerald and Diamond Ring claw-set step-cut emerald, estimated 2cts, between two old-cut diamonds in intricate pierced mount millegrain-set rose-cut diamonds, ring size J/K in Fabergé boxFootnote:Associated provenance: by repute the ring was bought by Fountain Charles Bolton from Fabergé in Moscow circa 1910 for his wife Emilie. Bolton worked for W J Bush & Co of London in their Moscow factory producing essential oils. The ring passed to Emilie's daughter Mollie and on her death in 2002 was left to the present owner.

A Fabergé silver-gilt, guiloché enamel and diamond set oblong cigarette case, enamelled throughout in wavy alternating tones of rich red within laureate gilt borders, the hinged cover with a diamond-set thumbpiece, enclosing a gilt interior, the inner cover with later presentation inscription: L.C.O., March 1st 1936, retailed by Cartier, the inner lip stamped, fitted red morocco case en suite, 7.5cm long, the cover and case struck twice with marks for 88 zolotnik with kokoshnik headdress looking right and alpha lettering, workmaster's mark of August Hollming, Fabergé, St. Petersburg, Imperial Russia, 1908 - 1913
A set of six Norwegian metalwares and enamel tea spoons by Marius Hammer, each with enamelled foliate terminals, in the original shell shaped fitted case Other Notes: Marius Hammer (1847-1927) was widely regarded as one of the most important silversmiths in Norway. A contemporary of Fabergé, he became world famous for fine enamel work. Most of the enamelled pieces reflected the Art Nouveau styles of bright colours and foliate designs and these spoons are typical of his work.

Alfred Lyndhurst Pocock (1882-1962), a carved amber model of a recumbent dog, mid 20th century, signed on base "A.L. Pocock, 1952", 4.1cm Alfred Pocock won a scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools in 1903. He began working for Fabergé in 1905, when the company's European manager, H.C. Bainbridge had to get some wax models of animals made for Queen Alexandra, these were sent to Russia for carving in semi-precious stone [1]. The RA recommended Pocock and his models pleased the Queen. Later she acquired gem carvings from Pocock, who had taught himself the technique using accounts in books. In a paper on 'Gem Engraving' by the sculptor Cecil Thomas delivered to the Royal Society of Arts in 1912.
