A 19th century Anglo-Indian ivory and ebony inlaid games compendium The rectangular hinged top inlaid with a chessboard flanked with cribbage boards, the fitted interior enclosing a stained carved bone chess set, a quantity of carved bone dominoes, a quantity of bone markers, a quantity of counters modelled as George III coins and other accessories. 29 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, possibly lacking one interior layer, shrinkage cracks and slight staining.

A matched suite of silver military belt fittings comprising: a belt buckle and counterplate with openwork 'VTERE FELIX' (use [this] happily) text; the loop elliptical with slot to the rear to accept the tongue, the counterplate with volute scroll to the leading edge; three smaller rectangular plaques with volute scrolls to the shorter edges, openwork 'chessboard' panels; all pierced for attachment. 65 grams total, 53-78mm (2 - 3"). Property of a Surrey collector; acquired in the early 1970s. [5] Fine condition.
