A matched suite of silver military belt fittings comprising: a belt buckle and counterplate with openwork 'VTERE FELIX' (use [this] happily) text; the loop elliptical with slot to the rear to accept the tongue, the counterplate with volute scroll to the leading edge; three smaller rectangular plaques with volute scrolls to the shorter edges, openwork 'chessboard' panels; all pierced for attachment. 65 grams total, 53-78mm (2 - 3"). Fine condition. [5] Property of a Surrey collector; acquired in the early 1970s.

A contemporary walnut and silk panel chess table:, of sofa table design, the rectangular hinged top with inset silk glazed panel with pink and white chessboard and cream surround, the two fitted drawers below containing a set of boxwood and walnut chess pieces, the whole on standard end and dual splayed legs, united by a stretcher, the top 56cm (1ft 10in) x 124.5cm (4ft 1in) extended.
A marquetry portable chess set, together with a mother of pearl card case, another leather bound example, a cased 19th century champagne tap, a cased razor, a group of Victorian illustrated children's books, and other items MOP missing from the spine of the case below the hinge, glued repair around the hinge of the other card case. The chessboard has no obvious signs of significant damage or repair, all the chess pieces are present.
