Aus den Maskarons mit ihren raumgreifenden Bärten und geöffneten Mündern Brennstellen erwachsend, die sich teilen und weitere überhöhende Brennstellen tragen. Der Mittelbaluster unterfangen von mächtigem Granatapfelknauf mit plastischem Blattwerk und weitere Brennstellen spendend, die aus den oberen Balustern hervortreten. Some rubbing to the gilt in places consistet with age and polishing/dusting. Patches of verdigris to the pendant finial. A FRENCH GILT BRASS EIGHT LIGHT CHANDELIER LAST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY With rich floral scrolling arms Approximately 120cm high overall, 81cm diameterProvenance: Purchased by the vendor from these rooms 9th July 2008, lot 95 Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. One chain with section missing between two hoops- will require replacement to hang the whole level with existing chain set up. Another has snapped. The chains themselves prone to catching and snarling up and in part are a gilded soft greyish metal which cannot quite support the weight of the chandelier.The whole will benefit from a clean- albeit some gilding looks to have rubbed from use.
