A late 17th/early 18th century wrought iron three light chandelier With giltwood knop, 73cm high. Provenance: The Roger Warner Collection, Christie’s South Kensington, 20/21 January 2009, Lot 112. COMPARATIVE LITERATURE: J Seymour Lyndsay, Iron and Brass Implements of the English House, 1970, fig 288 in which a drawing of a similar 3-branch chandelier from Randle Holme's Academy of Armory (published 1688) is shown. Hilliard, Chandeliers, 2001, p.37 and Ayres, Domestic Interiors 1500 – 1850, 2003, Fig 68 show related examples, the latter in Oxford City and County Museums. White Austrian Crystal Chandelier Necklace and Drop Earrings, a decorative statement necklace with rows, flowers and loops of white crystal to either side, leading down to a central, integrated pendant drop of a ring with a partial waterfall, terminating in a V, all fully set with white crystals; the matching earrings have three row drops with flower tops and post and push back fittings; the necklace fastens on a chain with a lobster claw clasp from 16 to 19 inches (40 to 47.5.cms) plus a 2.5 inch (6.3 cm) extender, earrings 2.25 inch (5.5 cm) drops; ideal as a bridal set or necklace alone
Amethyst Pair of Long Chandelier Drop Earrings, a spectacular pair of 4 inch (10cm) long amethyst earrings each comprising nine graduated strands of faceted round beads, terminating in a faceted pear shape briolettes, forming a V shape, suspended from a platinum vermeil and silver bar, hung from a similar stud, set with post and push back fittings, by two further strands of round cut amethysts; overall a total of 18cts. Please Note: in the photograph the left strand drop of the left earring appears to be missing. It is not, but is accidentally looped up by the bar. All amethysts are present and the strand unrolls easily
