In the mid-nineties, this was Radford's demonstrator and we can't help but wonder how many of London's 'bright young things' were whisked around Mayfair in a bid to make a sale.Brand new Mini Sprite, L169 WLP, finished in black, was originally supplied by Marrits of Amersham in March 1994 to Harold Radford (Coachbuilders) and became one of two demonstrators for their re-introduced Mini de Ville which had been incredibly trendy in the mid-1960sTowards the end of 1994, an order was received from a Mr J Wilmot-Smith and it was agreed that L169 WLP, by now a second hand demonstrator with 1,724 miles on the clock would form the donor car and it was duly sold to him for £4,600Within the file there is a copy of the three-page specification selected by Mr Wilmot-Smith and, there is obviously too much to list here, but highlights include a fabulous interior trim spec, an engine upgrade to 85bhp, 13” Rimstar wheels and the car was painted in ‘Bentley Racing Green’, the colour it wears todayOur vendor has owned this rather special Mini for a couple of years and the indicated mileage is 19,218 which we assume is from new. The car’s condition remains impressive and it will benefit from a fresh MOT prior to the saleThose of us who were tazzing about in Minis in the late sixties remember the cachet of Radford’s Mini de Ville and the associated pop star and Carnaby Street culture and it’s a shame that its reincarnation in 1994 didn’t really work, however, this is still a special little car and a part of Mini history. As far as we are aware, this was the brochure car for the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth and is the only pre-facelift Smokestone car ever built with an SVO chassis plate. This is potentially a very special Sierra Cosworth being the actual car that featured on the brochure as per the picturesK763 HOO was picked from Ford's production line in 1990, the chassis number confirms this year. It was then taken to Ford's SVO department where it was painted, what was at the time, a new but unknown colour which we now know as Smokestone. We believe it was used by Fords marketing department for press launches and passed to the dealerships for public approvalThe car was registered by Ford Motor Company itself not a dealership in 1993. We have an extensive file on the car including copies of the Ford registrationA few years ago it was sympathetically re-commissioned to a very high standard. The Cosworth is running a completely standard engine and is believed to have never been mapped or chippedThe original number plate, K763 HOO, was removed in the 1990s and returned to Fords, however, it has now been reunited with the carWe believe this Cosworth to be the very first Smokestone in production, backed up by the SVO tag plate which makes this a pre-production car. We also believe this is the only pre-facelift Smokestone in existence and therefore almost certainly the brochure carThe car is very smooth, runs extremely well and is supplied with 3 genuine keys including the rare tibble key and ID tagAn important piece off Ford's motoring history!SpecificationMake: FORDModel: SIERRAYear: 1993Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFLS75189Registration Number: K763 HOOTransmission: Manual Engine Number: LS75189 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 15728 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details, condition report and images

A superbly engineered and carefully detailed re-creation of one of the rare non-injection, turbocharged XR3s that took part in the Ford Escort Turbo Championship in 1983 and 1984.In order to keep the Ford ‘Clubman’ happy, Boreham promoted a fixed-specification Escort Turbo Rally Championship to run alongside major UK rallies during 1983 and 1984Private owners were invited to buy their own XR3s (not the fuel-injected XR3i as the Weber carb was an important part of the spec) and Ford provided a complete Turbocharging Kit and Bilstein Series X suspension at a cost of £1,350.
