MOORE BOBBY: (1941-1993) English Footballer, Captain of the England World Cup winning team, 1966. A Bank of England £5 note signed and inscribed by Moore in blue ink, `Fraser-In case you haven`t p[aid] for the petrol last year! Make [sur]e Mike gets back on time-pleas[e] Bobby`. A vertical tear running through the note has been repaired with sellotape causing slight staining and obscuring a few letters of text. Unusual in this form. FR Moore sent the banknote to his friend following a car journey to Edinburgh airport when the car his friend was driving began to run out of petrol. Having no money to pay the garage for the petrol, the driver promised to pay the garage owner the following day. Moore subsequently sent his friend the present note to settle his share of the debt.
HAWTHORN MIKE: (1929-1959) English Motor Racing Driver, Formula One World Champion 1958. Extremely rare vintage signed sepia 10 x 8 photograph of Hawthorn driving his Jaguar D-type OKV 3, most likely at the Daily Express Trophy at Silverstone in 1955. Signed in blue fountain pen ink with his name alone to a light area at the base of the image. Signed photographs of Hawthorn, particularly of this size and quality, are extremely rare following Hawthorn`s tragically early death in a motor car accident at the age of 29. HARRY DEBBIE: (1945- ) American Singer & Songwriter with the band Blondie. A.Q.S., Debbie Harry, one page, 4to, n.p., August 2001. In black ink Harry has penned the opening lines to the song Call Me, in full, `Color me your color, Color me your car, Color me your color darling, I know who you are`, adding her signature and date beneath. EX. . . . . Call Me was released by Blondie in 1980 and topped the charts both in America (where it became the band`s biggest selling single and second Number 1) and the United Kingdom (where it became their fourth Number 1 hit).
[R.M.S. TITANIC]: HART EVA (1905-1996) English Survivor of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, a second-class passenger who was seven at the time of the disaster. Vintage signed 4.5 x 6 photograph of Hart standing in a full length pose alongside an unidentified male companion on a pavement, preparing to enter a car. In her hands Hart holds a copy of Walter Lord`s book A Night to Remember. Signed (`Eva M. Hart`) in dark fountain pen ink to a light area at the base of the image. Neatly mounted. Together with a fountain pen ink signature and sentiment by Eva Hart, `The youngest known survivor of the greatest maritime disaster, Eva M. Hart`, on a card featuring a small affixed newspaper article relating to the Titanic above the signature. Generally VG, 2

Fountain pen ink signatures by both Queen Elizabeth II (`Elizabeth`, as Princess) and Prince Philip (`Philip`) on a card, most likely neatly clipped from a Christmas greetings card. Neatly laid down beneath a 4 x 4.5 photograph of the young Royal couple riding in an open top car. Framed and glazed in a gold coloured frame to an overall size of 7 x 10. About VG
CAMPBELL DONALD: (1921-1967) British Car & Motorboat Racer, World Land and Water Speed Record Holder in the 1950s and 1960s. T.L.S., Donald Campbell, one page, 4to, Horley, Surrey, 26th April 1950, to the Secretary of the Ace of Spades Club. Campbell informs his correspondent that both he and his brother-in-law were pleased to have made his acquaintance the previous evening and continues to enclose two completed membership applications (no longer present) for the club. Together with Malcolm Campbell (1885-1948) British Land & Water Speed Record Holder, father of Donald Campbell. Two individual fountain pen ink signatures (`Malcolm Campbell`), one on a page removed from an autograph album and the other on a card neatly laid down to a page removed from an autograph album. Interesting lot of Cosworth Engineering Ltd. Memorabilia (founded in 1958 as a British racing internal combustion engine maker): two commemorative Basset Lowke model engines presented to members of the Cosworth Engineering Ltd. Firm by Keith Duckworth - Chairman of Cosworth and designer of the DFV engine - both in perspex display cases (10.4cmx10.2cmx10.3cm): the first a replica of the engine used in Jim Clarke`s racing car, presented to Mary Smith (with letter written by Mary and photos and programme from the event in 1977), to commemorate 100 Formula 1 World Championship Victories achieved between 1967-1977 with engines manufactured by Cosworth Engineering Ltd. The other presented to commemorate 150 wins in U.S. Champ-car racing and 20 consecutive Indianapolis 500 mile race victories (1977-1987) achieved with DFX engines manufactured by Cosworth Engineering. Together with a commemorative piston head engraved `Mary Smith Working at Cosworth 16.1.66 to 2.3.83`, diameter 9.1cm, and two plaques featuring engine diagram: one featuring a DFV engine and a list of Grand Prix victories, presented by Keith Duckworth to commemorate 150 Grand Prix wins with DFV engines manufactured by Cosworth June 1967 - August 1982, plate no.024, 23cmx18cm. The other presented to C.Osborne, member of Cosworth Engineering, in January 1991 to commemorate the succesful completion of the 2.9L V6 DOHC `FBA` Engine Engineering Programme (featuring this engine model), plaque no.194, 22cmx17cm. Lot also includes a sealed K.K.Jigsaws Cosworth DFX Turbocharged 2.65 Litre black and white jigsaw puzzle.
