A circa 1900 French bedstead, the mahogany ends with marquetry inlaid decoration and gilt metal embellishments of foliate form, raised on square tapering legs, 167 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Some cracking and slight warping to veneers. Some old woodworm holes, particularly visible to footboard. Some slight fading, although colour overall appears reasonably good. Some chips and scuffs. Some of the brass mounts appear to have been re-secured.

An American Renaissance Carved Rosewood Bedstead, mid-19th c., probably New Orleans, paneled arched headboard with anthemion crest, octagonal posts with turned finials, conforming footboard, bracketed rails, casters, height 84 in., interior length 80 1/2 in., interior width 62 1/2 in. Provenance: Descended in a Louisiana Family.
