A bevel edged table mirror set in silver frame (hall marked Walker & Hall, Sheffiled 1929) inscribed 'SS Linwood launched at Burntisland by Mrs Wilfred Trowsdale 23rd March 1932' with white metal stand. Inscribed 'With the compliments of the North Eastern Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.,' (Linwood was sunk during WW2 on 15/11/1942 after striking a mine).
Doves Press.- Strouse (Norman H.) and John Dreyfus. C-S: The Master Craftsman. An account of the work of T.J.Cobden-Sanderson, letter G of 12 special copies with 2 original leaves from the Doves Press on vellum and signed by the printer Leonard F.Bahr, from an edition limited to 329, printed in red, blue and black, with loosely-inserted T.L.s. from the author to Duncan Andrews concerning the 12 copies on vellum, also prospectus and reproduction of a photograph of Emery Walker and Cobden-Sanderson outside the Doves Press, leather book-label of Haven O'More, original vellum-backed marbled boards, uncut, original cloth slip-case, a fine copy, folio, Harper Woods, Mich., Adagio Press, 1969.⁂ A very desirable special copy, containing two specimen leaves on vellum, one from Iphigenie auf Tauris with an initial in gold (4to), and an exceptionally rare leaf from the Bible, Isaiah 38, with an initial in red on recto and two on verso (folio).
Kelmscott Press.- Sparling (H.Halliday) The Kelmscott Press and William Morris Master-Craftsman, first edition, photogravure frontispiece portrait of Morris by Emery Walker, plates, leather book-label of Haven O'More, attractively-bound in green morocco, gilt, by Frank Garrett, upper cover with latticework panel in blind with title in gilt at head and author at foot within border of triple gilt rules and tudor roses at corners, lower cover with identical border, spine ruled and titled in gilt and with latticework in blind in compartments and five raised bands, signed at foot of rear turn-in, t.e.g., others uncut, some fading to spine, 8vo, 1924.

Proctor (Robert).- Homer. Odysseia [graece], one of 225 copies, printed in red and black in Robert Proctor's "Otter" Greek type, leather book-label of Haven O'More, original cloth-backed boards, paper label, uncut, a fine copy in board slip-case (rubbed), 4to, Oxford, printed at the University Press, 1909.⁂ Printed in Proctor's handsome Greek type, based on the Alcala font of 1514 (but with the addition of capitals by Proctor) and cut by Edward Prince. Proctor, bibliographer at the British Museum, died before any books could be printed but he bequeathed the type to Emery Walker and Sydney Cockerell who arranged for the printing of the Oresteia by Aeschylus in 1904 followed by the Odyssey.

EMILY MURRAY PATERSON RSW SWA (SCOTTISH 1855 - 1934), THE DERELICTS AT POELCAPPELLE watercolour on paper, signed; inscribed verso 27cm x 37cm Mounted, framed and under glass. Note: Emily studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and in Paris. She lived at Albyn Place in Edinburgh before moving to London in 1917. She travelled widely in Europe between 1909 and 1934. Shorty after the end of World War One she visited the former battlefields at Ypres in Belgium and produced a series of watercolours depicting the carnage of destroyed buildings including the Ypres Cloth Hall. The collection was exhibited in London in 1919 and several works were acquired by British institutions including the Imperial War Museum. Emily Paterson was a frequent exhibitor at The Royal Academy (London) from 1909 until the year of her death (1934) and a memorial exhibition was held at the Walker Gallery (London) in 1934.

Settled in the Isle of Man. Exhibited many at the Walker Gallery, Royal Cambrian Society and the Royal Society of Watercolourists.Condition report: The painting is in very good, original condition with strong colours. There are one or two minor spots of foxing across the painting most notably in the sky area. The painting is ornately framed and glazed. The frame has some minor knocks and losses commensurate with age.
