A fine Second World War Air Bombers DFC group of seven Medals to Squadron Leader Ian G O Fenton RAF, Distinguished Flying Cross, the reverse officially dated ‘1940’, in case of issue, 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, General Service Medal with Malaya Clasp, 1953 Coronation Medal + set of Miniatures mounted as worn, Together with his comprehensive Log Books from 1937-57 with other relevant items including his Jacket, Dress Jacket and Waistcoat, Buckingham Palace Admittance Ticket for his Investiture dated 25 Feb 1941, News Cuttings, etc, Squadron Leader Fenton joined the RAF in 1937 having earlier learned to fly with the East Anglian Aero Club and qualified as a 1st Pilot on Wellington Bombers in July 1939, following a series of successful bombing raids he was awarded the DFC on 22 Oct 1940, his service with the RAF ended in August 1957 by which time he had spent over 2000 hours in the air, flown 28 different aeroplanes and landed at over 100 aerodromes

LNER D/R Poster "Season Tickets On The L.N.E.R. Save Time And Money. An absolutely stunning Poster with image by H.M. Bateman dated 1928. The comical image shows a Dapper dandy holding his season ticket and walking briskly past a queue of travellers waiting at the Booking Office window. The large clock at the top of the image reads 8:49 and the train waiting in the platform has a departure board stating 'Next Train 8:50'. The irate travellers in the queue include a Golfer togged out in tweed plus-fours and carrying his golf clubs. A super poster in extremely good condition and in an old, glazed frame. Ideal for the railway collector, golf collector, ticket collector, clock collector or just as a fantastic conversational piece. NOTE: H M Bateman 1887 - 1970: - 20th century cartoonist and caricaturist born in Australia and brought to England when 2 years of age. He died on Gozo aged 81. During his most prolific years he drew for most of the quality periodicals. Through line and tone he was able to convey the full range of human emotion to maximum comic effect. Frustrated by ill health from army service in the first World War he contributed by raising the spirits of officers and men alike through his inspirational drawings. Throughout the 20's and 30's the popularity of the "Man Who …." Series, published first in the 'Tatler', raised his status to that of the highest paid and most copied humorist of the time. His most famous of all was 'Coughs & Sneezes Spread Diseases'. In retirement he painted quality pictures of the English countryside and Mediterranean life.
BR(M) Enamel Doorplate PARCELS AND LEFT LUGGAGE, F/F, two line version. Excellent colour and shine, slight edge loss. Given to a young Platform Ticket collector who went to Smethwick Rolfe Street station for a platform ticket only to be told there weren't any. The Booking Clerk took take pity on him and gave him the sign.

Katherine Church (b.1910) "Yellow Lilies at Sutton House"] Signed and dated "89" (1989), also signed and inscribed with the title verso, oil on canvas, 61cm by 50.5cm (24in by 19 3/4in) *Picture was originally exhibited in Harrogate and is sold together with the original exhibition ticket, price being #1450. The artist exhibited throughout Great Britain. A major retrospective exhibition of paintings from 1936 to 1988 was held at the Duncalfe Galleries, 34 Montpellier Parade, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, between Sept 15th and Oct 15th 1988. A copy of an exhibition catalogue for reference purposes only is available for viewing. The artist also exhibited at the 25th Harrogate International Festival Exhibition in 1990 to celebrate her 80th birthday.
