A Set of Six Slice Cut Circular Salt Cellars, part of the Tenantry Service of the Duke of Northumberland, early 19th century, of panelled circular form, each with moulded "lemon-squeezer" bases, each engraved with Percy crescent, 7.7cm diameter The service was transported continuously between Alnwick Castle and Syon House in London for important banquets.
A RARE 6mm 'LE MERVEILLEUX' REPEATING PALM-PISTOL BY J.R. & CIE., serial no. 174, Late 19th century, 4 3/4in. overall, with nickel-plated barrel marked 'LE MERVEILLEUX', blued spring, nickel-plated squeezer trigger and action (mainspring defective), internal magazine, walnut grips, the underside of the butt marked 'L / BREVETE' and 'J.R. & CIE.' A Sunderland Bridge rummer the bucket bowl finely engraved in an oval cartouche with the Sunderland Bridge with seven lamps and a two masted sailing ship beneath. At the base of the bowl is a bladed collar and short stem spreading into a lemon squeezer foot the reverse of the bowl engraved with the initials AS surrounded by hops and barley 14cm high circa 1800
A scarce French 5 shot 8mm Gaulois squeezer palm pistol, number 21511, 5½” overall, barrel 2¼” stamped on the breech ‘Cal. 8m/m’ and “No 3” and on the barrel flat with MF logo a “Gaulois”, the frame and barrel etched overall with floral design and with the device of “Manufacture Francaise d’Armes et Cycles Saint Etienne”, safety catch on left side, black hard rubber grip.
