A silver miniature spoon with with small deep bowl and wide rim punched with a series of dots; wide handle with series of three lines of punched dots; riveted loop to top with suspension ring with wire threaded round. A Scandinavian bone spoon with silver band for attaching the bowl to handle; bowl is wide with shallow dish; junction of tang with globular shape; body of handle fluted and ending in a turned vase shape with rounded end. 26 grams, 19.5cm (7 3/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s. Fine condition.
2nd millennium BC. A small silver spoon with shallow piriform bowl, round-section shank, ribbed collar with standing robed figure modelled in the round; the reverse of the bowl with incised detail of foliage and pellets, rear of the joint with stamped hollow triangle; the figure standing bearded in a floor-length robe with tremolier texturing, hands folded at the chest.
