A George III silver Old English pattern gravy spoon, maker`s mark IB, London 1802, engraved with a crest, 34cm (13 1/2in) long, 164g (5.25 oz). Several flatware makers at this time used very similar IB marks. The Book of Family Crests by John Peter Elven published in 1838 records this crest for APPERBY.
