An MR2 Sextant Periscope, XV 230, in original hard carrying case with paperwork MR2 XV230 was the first Nimrod to enter operational service with the Royal Air Force on 2 October 1969 as a MRI upgraded to MR2 in the 1980s. This aircraft crashed whilst on operations near Kandahar, Afghanistan on 2 September 2006, with the loss of all 14 crew. (1)
