SMALL FOSSILISED ICHTHYOSAUR SKELETON,Jurassic period, 56cm x 43cm overallAdditional images available with further to follow; this plaque has over its life come apart into several pieces and been reglued but currently in three pieces; these have simply come apart without any further damage being incurred as the glue gave up, will need to be re-adhered together, obviously requires attention before again being reliably stable, all appears original rather than featuring later additions to the plaque, sizeable loss to one corner and some other chips with some surface losses to the matrix, one section of surface matrix has come loose and will need to be reattached; it is not on any backing; the black bands likely old varnish or glue. The property of a private collector until recently based in the Scottish Highlands, a known geologist and lifelong collector of fossils and minerals; likely discovered in China. As this is not an item we would be able to ship please visit www.mctears.co.uk/shipping for a list of our recommend couriers.
