Formerly in the Collection of Michael Thomas who performs on this instrument on his LP Historic Harpsichords & Clavichords, Oryx Collectors' Series 1725. Described and illustrated in The Galpin Society Journal, LXI, April 2008 in the article "Carl Engel and the Clavichord" by Paul Simmonds, p. 107, Fig. 8. (1856-1933), in a five year racing career White Eagle won the Sussex Stakes, National Breeders Produce Stakes, Woodcote Stakes and the City & Suburban Handicap, from 1910 he was at stud in Ireland and died in 1928. Buttercup was the winner of The House of Commons lightweight point to point steeple chase in 1910, there is a known portrait of Col.
