A GREAT WAR CASUALTY GROUP TO PRIVATE MONTAGUE DOUGLAS GROVES, DORSETSHIRE REGIMENT comprising the British War Medal 1914-20 and Victory Medal (both 18879 Pte. M.D. Groves. Dorset. R.), officially impressed, and a Memorial Plaque (Montague Douglas Groves), all mounted in an oak frame with a full-length photographic portrait postcard of Private Groves. Note: 18879 Private Montague Groves, 1st Bn Dorsetshire Regiment, the son of Thomas William and Caroline Groves, of Chetnole, Sherborne, Dorset, died on 29th September 1918, at the age of 20. He is buried with honour at Cerisy-Gailly Military Cemetery.
