1821 King George IV Coronation, a framed admission ticket to Westminster Abbey:, the central bicoloured print by James Whiting and Robert Branston in black and blue showing the King seated on the throne with classical maidens, laurels and Coat of Arms, surrounded within an embossed frame by Dobbs of national emblems and oakleaf, with Royal seal below marked 'Not Transferable' 22 x 26cm, also a similar Westminster Hall Coronation Pass Ticket by Dobbs inscribed 'Admit this barer to Lord….apartment', 19 x13cm, mounted on paper with manuscript title 'This ticket admitted Mr Hargrave to see George 4th crowned 1821', and an unused 'Procession Pass Ticket' by Dobbs within blue and red showing George IV in a chariot within a rectangular border with embossed border, 20.5 x 16.5cm (3)*Notes- Very good example of early bicoloured security printing first patented by Sir William Congreve in 1821. The compound printing by use of a pantograph and a geometric lathe was developed to stop the increasing levels of counterfeit banknotes.
