Condition Report: Some slight cutting scratches and marks to the top of the board as to be expected, however there are no signs of any cracks, chips, breaks or damages.

Mouseman - unusual circa. 1930s adzed oak tub-shaped armchair, barrel-back with woven leather, the upright carved with mouse signature, figured panelled sides enclosing panelled seat, arched seat rail, stile supports with block feet on castors, by the workshop of Robert Thompson, Kilburn Notes: made by apprentice Graham Hayes (1914-1943). Hayes went on to become a founding member of the Small Scale Raiding Force (SSRF), a special commando unit under the Special Operations Executive (SOE), established by Winston Churchill in 1940. Tragically, he was captured in 1942 and held prisoner by the Gestapo until his execution in 1943. Recently, Hayes has been featured in Guy Ritchie's film 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare' under the name "Graham 'Henry' Hayes," portraying his role in the SOE. Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oak octagonal top side table / coffee table, 48.5cm diameter, dimpled surface, mouse to pedestal, 48cm tall. Generally good and clean, some surface wear, may benefit from a clean / polish. If being harsh, slight split to wooden top to one side, noticeable by touch, can be seen if studied close also.
