Consisting of 8,500 acres of isolated and mountainous land on the West Coast of Scotland, accessed by boat from Malling, Camusrory was considered to be the finest deer stalking estate on Knoydart. With almost every stalk starting with a strenuous climb from sea level to nearly 3,000 feet, this was and is an area requiring extreme fitness and excellent skills with the rifle. The mountain on the crest is based on Ben Aden which lies within the eastern March of the estate. The stag represents the deer herd on Camusrory which was renowned for the quality of the stags and the difficulty in safely culling them. Salmon were to be found in limited quantities in the river Carnach. The rifles are modelled on a MacMillan commissioned by the owner, a blue printed Remington action, in 7mm Remington Magnum, a powerful cartridge designed to deliver outstanding accuracy despite the stormy conditions often encountered in the area. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
