An 18ct gold bracelet by Gay Frères, circa 1971, designed as a series of stepped oval plaques each with a textured finish, accompanied by one additional link, maker’s mark, French assay marks, London import mark, length 17cm. £1,800-£2,200 --- The workshop of Gay Frères was created in 1835 by Jean-Pierre Gay and Gaspard Tissot in Geneva. They specialised in making chains for pocket watches and jewellery and by the beginning of the 20th century were supplying watch bracelets for the biggest Swiss watch companies. Rolex was an early client and Gay Frères produced stainless steel, gold and platinum bracelets for them. By the 1940s, they were supplying Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, and soon also working for other watch makers including Audermars Piquet and Jaeger LeCoultre. By the 1970s, the company, still family owned, were running the largest factory in Geneva, employing over 500 specialist craftsmen. Gay Frères went on to create jewellery for the prestigious Parisian Maisons such as Hermès and Van Cleef & Arpels. They continue to be regarded as world specialists in handmade chains and watch bracelets, and still produce a new jewellery collection each year - including chain necklaces, bracelets, torques, cuffs and rings in a variety of gold finishes and textures. Their jewellery of the 1960s and 70s is particularly sought after. Condition Report Light surface wear. Overall very good condition. Gross weight including spare link 67.4gm.

A GILT BRASS 'ATMOS' TIMEPIECEJAEGER-LECOULTRE, GENEVA, 1960'SThe single train movement wound via the expansion and contraction of an aneroid chamber mounted to the rear of the mechanism and regulated by torsion escapement with rotating balance suspended at the base of the movement and numbered 281571 to suspension platform, the square gilt on white baton numeral chapter ring with Arabic quarters enclosing motionwork inscribed ATMOS, JAEGER LECOULTRE, SWISS MADE, the rectangular five-glass case with canted angles and lift-out front glass over plinth base fitted with three screw-adjustable feet and a bubble level to interior.23.5cm (9.25ins) high, 21cm (8.25ins) wide, 16cm (6.25ins) deep.Condition Report: The timepiece is in working condition (will continue running when the balance is released), timekeeping has not been checked. The case is in sound original condition with some dust/grime build-up to the upper surfaces and slight degradation to the finish in places. The small gilt tab for lifting-out the front door glass is missing a tiny grub screw hence is loose however the tab is held-in place by the case when the glass is in position, and it still can be used to assist with the removal of the glass to access the dial.There is no outer case, packaging or paperwork with present timepiece. Early Atmos clock ser. no. 2135 (in need of restoration), the 2.75" white dial signed Atmos, Pendule Perpetuelle, within a bevelled glazed chrome case, 9.5" high * This rare clock is believed to have been produced by Compagnie Générale de Radio (CGR) in France prior to the take over off the company by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1935. Despite the clock needing repair ( a new spring) and maintenance on the main mechanism it is a fine example of an Atmos clock.

Tarnishing to the brass as well as some small areas of pitting and surface scratching. The inside of the clock is dirty both on the glass and brass.
