Lot 159

English 12 bore 3 inch chamber wild fowling gun, 30 inch sleeved barrels choked full and 3/4, scroll engraved Anson and Deeley non ejector action, serial number 8463. UK RFD OR SHOTGUN LICENCE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT 120cm long Condition report: The gun is in generally good order with signs of wear from use. The sleeved barrels are free from dents and pitting. They ring when tapped. The barrels are tight on the action with no wobble when the forend is removed. The action appears to function correctly. The blacking has the odd pitting or corrosion spot and the occasional scratch and surface mark from use but this is pretty minor. The woodwork has some dents, scratches small chips, and marks, mainly to the forend as the butt has been refinished when the comb was expertly but noticeably enlarged. There are scuffs and minor chips to the horn end cap pistol grip cap. The metalwork looks to have been well refinished some time ago.

Dizzy Gillespie signed 5x3 white card. John Birks Dizzy Gillespie ( October 21, 1917 - January 6, 1993) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator and singer. He was a trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuoso style of Roy Eldridge but adding layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity previously unheard in jazz. His combination of musicianship, showmanship, and wit made him a leading populariser of the new music called bebop. His beret and horn-rimmed spectacles, scat singing, bent horn, pouched cheeks, and light-hearted personality provided one of bebops most prominent symbols. Good condition.
