Geschult am französischen Informel eines Georges Mathieu und dem abstrakten Informel eines Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly oder Sam Francis entwickelt er schon seit den 1950er Jahren seine sehr persönliche Aktionsmalerei. Dabei spielt die Geschwindigkeit, das spontane sich Gehenlassen auf der Leinwand eine große Rolle. "Meine Fantasie ist so schnell", sagt der Künstler, "dass ich kaum fähig bin, etwas langsam zu notieren. Ich kann das nur mit Spuren und mit Geschwindigkeit." (Isabella und Friedrich-Wilhelm Goebel (Hg.), Staudacher, München 2002, S. 27)Die abstrakte Malerei ist Hans Staudacher "handschrift, farbe, tanz, spiel, zeichen, einfall, rede, wort, überfluß, bewegung, geschwindigkeit." (Hans Staudacher, manifest 1960) Neben dem Erfassen von spontanen Emotionen bestimmt der Intellekt des Künstlers die rhythmischen Bewegungsabläufe. Skripturale Elemente verdeutlichen den gedanklichen Ursprung seiner Malerei. Schrift und Bild gehen eine untrennbare Symbiose sein, halten einander im Zaum und fachen einander gleichzeitig zu immer dramatischeren Kompositionen an. Hier verdichtet sich dunkles Blau vibrierend zur Mitte hin, überlagert rotbraune Farbelemente, um selbst gleich wieder von schwarzer, wild über die Fläche wirbelnder Kalligrafie überdeckt zu werden. Das Bildgeschehen entfaltet sich dabei wirkungsvoll vor einem hellen Hintergrund von unglaublicher Leuchtkraft.(Sophie Cieslar)
