Augsburg: Theophil Goebel and Joannis Schonig, 1675.Small 4to (205 x 158 mm). Engraved title, 12 copper engraved plates. (Some minor spotting or offsetting.) Later half calf (some minor rubbing, hinges starting). FIRST EDITION of Welsch's study on materia medica in the 17th century, including plates after Melchoir Haffner illustrating minerals and plants used for preparing medicinal treatments. Welsch, a German doctor from Augsburg, was accepted as a member of the Academia Naturae Curiosorum, the present-day Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, in 1676.
