3 presentation plated WW1 aerial darts, or Flechettes. One with heavy head, slender shaft and 4 vane tail marked `Bristol Rgd`, 13cm. The others pencil shaped, the shaft of one with 4 deeply cut out veins for ¾ length 11.5cm. The other with hollow brass light weight shaft, 15cm; In a velvet and silk lined leatherette case, with `Souvenirs of The War. Aeroplane Darts. With The Complements of Henry Levin, Webb & Co.` Inside lid. GC illustrated on Plate 24.
A fitted leather covered case. Bearing the inscription in gilt on the silk lining of the lid `Souvenir of the War Aeroplane Darts`. The case contains two (of three) models of metal darts or Flechettes, carried by aircraft during WW1 to be dropped on enemy troops. Size of case. 18.5cm x 8.5cm. GC some wear to silk lining. One dart missing.
