An early 20c. Meissen cabinet cup and saucer, each piece hand painted with various flowers to include Daffodils etc., another single Meissen saucer, a Noritake cup and saucer, a further cup and saucer in pink and blue and a pressed glass tumbler "Just a Thimbleful". The latter 6 cms. high. (8)
A 19c. Sunderland pink lustre frog mug, possibly Dixon and Co., decorated with "The Sailor`s Farewell" with the sailor`s wife and children before ships and a verse to the other side reading "There is an hour of peaceful rest to morning wanderers given, there is a tea of souls distrest, a barm for every wounded breast, tis found above in heaven." With interior frog, and ear handle. 11 cms. high, and a Staffordshire pink lustre cup, probably 19c. with gilt highlights and a copper lustre jug. (3)
A quantity of Staffordshire pottery commemorative mugs mainly late 19c. The first of typical form gilt highlighted with the name "Mary", another reading "William Sanders Burton", a christening cup John McFarlane, March 1877 reading "A present from my dear girl" and a good hand painted and engraved cup and saucer "Mary Parker, Rose Cottage". The largest 9 cms. high. (6)
A good 19c. presentation cup and saucer. The teacup part hand painted with birds and printed in gilt "Presented by Alice W. H. Wharton to Miss Aida A. Taylor on her 23rd Birthday, 17th January 1899" with large saucer, another christening mug to "Louisa Meyatt, 1874" with saucer, two further christening mugs " A Very Good Boy" and "To John Beech". The largest cup 9 cms. high. (6)
In the manner of Limoges: A hand-painted dish centred with courting couple. Of shaped oval form with a lattice style gilt outline on oval foot with blue and white tazza style dish, a Limoges pin dish decorated with flowers, a Hungarian pin dish of small proportion and a 19c. gilt lined tea cup and saucer. A painted papier mache tray, probably early 20c. Of shaped form, the gilt rim broken by areas of fluting, the centre decorated with flowers. Signed lower right and stamped "Made in Italy" verso. 47 cms. wide, a glass paperweight etched with a Kingfisher, a Dresden hand-bell, a Crown Staffordshire swan shaped pin dish, a Coalport cottage and another three items of copper lustre ware and an Aynsley loving cup commemorating the Queen`s Silver Jubilee. Approx 44 Manchester United football programmes, predominantly 1980`s to 1990`s including 1966 Manchester United V Everton FA Challenge Cup semi-final tie, also a small quantity of other programmes, Manchester United magazines including red issue, yearbooks etc, also 15 topical times photo cards of footballers.
1982 Football World Cup interest; a unique collection of autographs collected by Gordon Letij, graphic designer for Frido Playballs, including multiple signatures of 21 of the squad including George Best (6), Kevin Keegan, Ray Kennedy, Emlyn Hughes, Bryan Robson, Glenn Hoddle etc, also Eddie Waring (rugby) etc, contained in two folders including Frido literature, header cards, designer`s notes, drawings, tracers and many other items related to the graphic design project. This lot is accompanied by a note of provenance from Gordon Letij (Illustrated).
