C.F.C.) first medal planchet only, edge bruising and contact marks, generally nearly very fine and better (7) £80-£100 --- Hector McDougall Mowatt was born at sea on 7 August 1890, the son of Captain Harry Howatt of Port Haney, British Columbia, and attested for service during the Great War with the Canadian Forestry Corps in London, England, on 6 February 1917. He served on the Western Front from 25 August 1917 and was appointed acting sergeant in the field on 10 October 1917. For his services during the Great War he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (London Gazette 18 January 1919). He was discharged on 31 March 1919. Sold with copied service records.
