KENNEDY ROSE: (1890-1995) American Philanthropist, wife of Joseph Kennedy and mother of John F. Kennedy. T.L.S., Rose Kennedy, one page, 4to, Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, 8th November 1965, to Goddard Lieberson of Columbia Records. Kennedy thanks her correspondent for a copy of the book As We Remember Him and continues 'I am very proud to have this wonderful tribute to my son -- this story on which you have lavished so much thought, discrimination, and good taste. The result is most gratifying to me and I hope it will be an inspiration to others.' She further thanks Lieberson for his offer to donate the proceeds of the book to the Memorial Library, adding 'All the members of the family and I hope the Library will be not only a lasting memorial to the late President, but a mecca for people from the United States and from all over the world to come to study and work together, thus furthering the great goals of peace and understanding among nations in which the late President believed so wholeheartedly.'
