This Columbia Grafonola Type G-2 is a floor-standing phonograph housed in a beautifully crafted deep, dark wood cabinet. The rich hardwood features exquisite grain patterns and a lustrous finish. The cabinet design includes seven spacious shelves concealed behind two cabinet doors, perfect for storing records. The phonograph mechanism is located in the upper section of the cabinet, with a distinctive front-facing grille for sound projection. The Grafonola was introduced in 1907 by the Columbia Graphophone Company as an alternative to their external horn Disc Graphophones.  This innovative design concealed the horn within the cabinet, resulting in a more compact and aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture. The Type G-2 model, like the one offered here, was a popular model known for its rich sound and elegant design.    The Grafonola represents a pivotal period in the history of audio technology, marking the transition from external horn to internal horn phonographs. It's a tangible link to the early days of recorded music and home entertainment. The Foster and Waldo Company was a prominent manufacturer of phonograph cabinets for the Columbia Graphophone Company in the early 20th century. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Foster and Waldo was renowned for its high-quality woodworking and cabinetmaking skills. They produced a wide range of cabinets for Columbia Grafonolas, each designed to complement the elegance and technological innovation of the phonograph mechanisms. Dimensions: 21"L x 19.75"W x 45"HCondition: Age related wear.

OASIS - Oasis Demo Cassette Tape and Noel Gallagher Handwritten Note - An early demo cassette tape of Oasis and an accompanying note handwritten by Noel Gallagher. The current owner obtained both of these items in November 1993. They accompanied a friend and employee of Creation Records to the Falcon public house to scout the group Whiteout. Later in the evening, after a performance at the Powerhaus in Islington, the Gallagher brothers and the rest of the Oasis band members joined them at the Falcon. Although not a Creation employee, the current owner was involved in the music industry and encouraged Gallagher to send them a recording of his band as they were unfamiliar with their songs. They received the handwritten note in the post and a demo tape a few days later. The Maxwell branded cassette tape comes in a plastic casing. "Oasis Demo's [sic]" is handwritten on the insert down the case's spine, and the back features the titles of six tracks on the tape handwritten by Gallagher: "Digsy's Dinner," "Live Forever," "Up In The Sky," "Shakermaker," Columbia," and "Married With Children." The note is addressed "To Rachel" and is handwritten in black ballpoint pen on lined paper. This is the first time we have seen an Oasis demo tape accompanied by a letter from Gallagher. The note exhibits fold lines, and the tape case exhibits minor scratching.
