COLUMBIA SAX 2290/92 - MARIA CALLAS - A very rare ED1 box set of Maria Callas performing Medea by Luigi Cherubini. Original turquoise/silver labels. The records are in Ex condition with a couple of quite minor surface marks to note. Complete with libretto and insert. The original box is in VG condition. The majority of the box is in good shape, however the top opening edge has been torn (though this may be able to be repaired with care).

A vintage Columbia oak cased gramophone, inscribed to the interior "Viva-Tonal Grafonola" and No'd. 117A, together with two records CONDITION REPORTS Unable to comment if in working order. Case has a split running along the top and some water staining all over as well as various surface scratches etc conducive with age and use. There are several labels to the interior - see images for further details. There are a couple of holes in the bottom left hand corner of the interior, appears that something would have been screwed in at some point. The velvet of the turntable is fraying around the edges, there is some pitting to the arm. The front mechanism vent turns but is rather stiff - see images for further details, here are also extra needles, again see images. The metal work is rusting in various places - see images. There is some glue-like substance to the top of the inside and the handle is rusting and the paint is flaking from the handle. Includes two records, one of which is broken in half but does appear to play
