A late 19th century repeater carriage clock. The brass case with five glass panels, 8 day movement, the clock striking on a coiled gong, H18.5cm (handle up) x W9.4cm x D8cm Condition Report: Bevelled glass. Lever platform is of a 'gold' colour. Appears in an excellent condition for its age, light surface marks. Mechanism appears to be functioning, not tested for accuracy. Would benefit from a service.
An Albert Villon 19th century French five glass carriage clock. Movement is an eight day with platform escapement, stamped with the lion. Key present. L8cm x D6.5cm x H11cm (body excluding handle). Condition Report: Bevelled glass. Lever platform is of a 'gold' colour. Appears in an excellent condition for its age, light surface marks. A FRENCH LATE 19TH CENTURY CARRIAGE CLOCK, Rococo revival style, gilt metal case with silvered figures of the four seasons to each corner, the case elaborately cast with scrollwork and foliage decoration, white enamelled dial, Roman numerals, the four pillared mechanism with repeater button, alarm and striking on gong, 17cm high, 12cm wide, 9.5cm deep, complete with a valuation document from Garrards Crown Jewellers, dated 1969.
Property of the late Countess Haig: an early 20th century French gilt brass repeating carriage clock, the case, of characteristic form, bearing a presentation inscription "D.H. (Douglas Haig) from T.A.B & I.M.B. 11th of July 1905", enclosing a white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring, reading 'Examined by Dent,' the twin train eight day movement having a jewelled platform balance escapement, striking the hours and halves on a blued steel coiled gong, the movement back plate inscribed with the Drocourt 'D.C.' trademark, 'Made in Paris.' complete with key and ticking away. H15cm. Note: the presentation inscription to Douglas Haig, the 1st Earl Haig, bears the date of his wedding to The Hon. Dorothy Maud Vivian and was therefore presumably a wedding gift.
