His paintings are inspired by the changing seasons, history and folklore of this dramatic landscape. His work has been widely exhibited all over the world, in public and private collections. In Scotland, his paintings have been shown in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the Scottish Parliament Collection and the Gallery of Modern Art, in Glasgow. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, he has won numerous awards through the years and was elected as a Member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 2006.
