He served with the 1st Battalion in the Sudan; with the 18th Mounted Infantry Company in South Africa during the Boer War; and again with the 1st Battalion on the North West Frontier of India. Sold with a copy of a published drawing showing the Seaforth Highlanders storming the Zabera at the Battle of the Atbara; and copied research.
A Perthshire Scottish paperweight, signed to underside. Diameter 75 mm, together with a Caithness Moonflower paperweight and another. CONDITION REPORT: The paperweight to the bottom left of the image has some surface scratches to the very top of the paperweight. These are shallow but visible particularly under magnification. The paperweight also has several other minor marks to the glass and the odd air bubble. The orange cane +/- 1 cm from the centre has an internal hairline crack and other canes have slightly bled into one another. Overall the condition is generally good. The smaller signed Millefiori paperweight is in generally good condition with no issues. The Caithness paperweight has minor scratches to the underside surface but again is generally good order.
