An Aynsley bone china Breakfast and Tea Service extending to seventy pieces, printed and painted with summer fruits and berries by D Jones and N Brunt, consisting of six coffee cans and saucers, six teacups and saucers, ten 27cm plates, two milk jugs, lidded sucrier, coffee pot, teapot, 25cm fruit bowl, small footed bowl, pair hexagonal covered vases, pair of covered two-handled vases, two trays, bread plate, three covered jars, four small trays and three small vases.
A 19th century and later Naval officer’s sabre, the curving blade with engraved designs, having bone carved handle and gilt guard and eagle’s head pommel, in part leather and brass scabbard (2) The handle is loose, the scabbard as mentioned is lacking the lower section and is in quite poor condition, with cracking and flaking to leather. Blade has scratching and marking throughout and many signs of wear. Engraving and gilding to parts of blade, with cannon and shield bearing starts and stripes amongst stylized foliage. This sword has an eagle device with shield at the hilt implying that it is of American origin (USA). It`s blade and design would indicate mid 1980`s but it is possible that some fittings are later. There is a 6 or 9 stamped to the blunt edge of the blade by the hilt. From Tip to Pommel is 90cm, Scabbard is 63cm + Blade = Approx 77cm. Relatively straight and only slightly bent.
