Recording sessions began here but moved to a basement studio in a house known as The Big Pink, lived in by several members of The Band. More than 100 songs were recorded, a mixture of covers and original Dylan compositions. In 1968, fourteen tracks appeared on a demo pressing circulated within the music business, and the first bootleg, The Great White Wonder, appeared the following year.
