A BOXED KAMCO SATURN PLASTIC BATTERY OPERATED ROBOT, no. 1981, c.1980's, not tested, appears complete and in fairly good condition except has small piece of the battery compartment catch missing, with all four missiles (in box), but two of the firing tubes not working, battery box clean with no corrosion, some minor wear to silver plastic, height approximately 30cm, box complete but damaged, with a boxed Hong Kong made plastic battery operated Funny Robot, No. 7912, not tested, appears complete and in fairly good condition, battery box clean with no corrosion, height approximately 14cm, box complete with packing piece but has some minor wear and damage (2)
One of the biggest successes and stand out characters from the classic sci-fi movie "Forbidden Planet" (1956) was 'Robby the Robot'. So looking to strike while the iron was hot and recoup some of the huge production costs in bringing him to the screen on Altair IV they recast him in the 1957 movie "The Invisible Boy" - Il Robot e lo Sputnik. This stunning large format Italian Two-Panel (4-Fogli) features beautiful painted artwork by Silvano "Nano" Campeggi of 'Robby'. Offered conservation linen-backed with foldlines touched in and flattened out this is a stunning movie poster and a worthy addition to any serious collection. "Star Tours" is a motion simulator attraction ride based on George Lucas' Star Wars film series. The first incarnation of the ride appeared in Tomorrowland at Disneyland in 1987 and this poster from 1986 is from the first print run in the run up to the ride opening 1987.
