Vernon Evans: Model Railway Collector – A Short Biography By His Son Tecwyn My father recently passed away, leaving his model railway collection to his three grandsons, my children. His collecting started in August 1961 and he continued to a few months before his death last year. As you can imagine his collection was a great size, with rarities, limited editions, steam and diesel and lots of rolling stock. His love of modelling led to modifications to some of the trains but many remain as they were when first purchased. His main interest lay in LMS however the collection covers a broad range. My children had a great fun occasionally being allowed to play with these trains and the layout, which covered the floor space of two garages. I myself reminisce when I as a small child also played with and usually derailed the trains, much to my father’s annoyance. With my children’s consent we are pleased to offer this collection up for auction to like-minded individuals. My father would be pleased to know the models he loved for most of his life will be going to good homes and keen collectors See Lot 1057-1064, 1077-1118, 1126-1136, 1326-1328, 1152-1163, 1165-1166 and 1326-1328 Bachmann 00 Gauge EMU 4-Car set, 31-426A Late BR SR green 4-Cep, in original box, VG-E, box G
