* JAMES FULLARTON (SCOTTISH b. 1946), THE HARBOUR, CRAIL oil on canvas, signed, titled verso framed image size 75cm x 91cm, overall size 94cm x 109cm Artist's label verso Note: Born in Glasgow, James Fullarton studied at the Glasgow School of Art under Donaldson, Goudie and Shanks. Since gaining his Diploma in Drawing and Painting in 1969, he has worked full-time as a professional painter based in Ayrshire. He is a regular exhibitor with the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and has exhibited with the Royal Scottish Academy and lectured for the Scottish Arts Council. He has also won several prizes and awards throughout his career including the David Cargill Award and the Britoil Award. James has enjoyed a long and successful career with many solo shows. A collection of Wemyss style pottery including cabbage rose soap dish and cover and storage jar, a Llanelly Wild Rose pattern jar, Ye Olde English Wild Rose pattern vase, Plichta plum pattern cylindrical jar and cover and similar conserve pot and cover, Plichta orange pattern mustard pot and cover and salt, Plichta red currant rectangular dish, Plichta duckling pepper, Plichta piglet hat pin holder and eleven other various Plichta animal figures including rabbits, elephant, piglet, lamb, puppy etc (23) CONDITION REPORTS The Llanelly piece only: is heavily crazed and discoloured throughout. Very dirty. Has a couple of small chips to the rim. Heavy wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details
Wemyss Pottery Cabbage Rose wash basin and ewer, painted in shades of green, pink and brown on a white ground, diameter 39.5cm (2). Displays well and in good condition with no obvious damage or restoration. Some surface wear. Neither 'ring true' however there are no obvious damages though both are severely crazed due to their age etc. Underglaze crack to handle of jug.
A collection of Wemyss Ware in the Cabbage Rose pattern to include a high-shouldered, 21cm tall, a shaped edge vase, a bulbous jug, a 17cm diameter side plate and a cake plate (5). The shaped vase is good though a deep line of crazing / forming hairline, the other vase is chipped, the other 3 are all damaged too.
Wemyss Ware, decorated with cockerels, to include a Black Cockerel 'Bonjour plate', 12.5cm diameter, a similar mug, a brown cockerel 'Bonjour' sugar bowl and a Pheasant 'Bonjour' sugar bowl (4). Two are In good condition with no obvious damage or restoration. Some surface wear. Cup is cracked, forming hairlines to pheasant bowl.
Wemyss Ware in the 'Buttercup' pattern to include a large teapot, a smaller teapot (missing lid) , 5 cups, 1 saucer, 4 sugar bowls, 3 creamers, 5 side plates, a slightly larger plate and 2 cake plates (Qty). Condition is mixed and damages are present. Paint chips, wear and grazes are apparent across most of the set as commensurate with age. The largest teapot is generally from free damage though is crazed all over and odd grazes are apparent. The smaller teapot is damaged and without original lid. 1 cup is damaged as is 1 sugar bowl. 1 creamer with forming hairline. 2 side plates are cracked as is the slightly larger plate. Otherwise, all appears to be good though a lot dont ring true though no obvious damages apparent.
A LARGE WEMYSS SHAMROCK PIG. A Wemyss pig of large size, painted with shamrocks to the body. Painted marks to the base, 'Wemyss Ware, 13, 28.5cms high, approx 44cms long. *CR Both ears has been broken and re-stuck at the bases, small firing cracks to one ear, general crazing and some discolouration in places, some wear to the base and feet.
