Trollope (Anthony) How the "Mastiffs" went to Iceland, first edition, half-title, colour map frontispiece, 14 lithographed plates by Mrs. Hugh Blackburn, 2 mounted photographic plates (becoming loose), foxing, occasional marginal soiling or water-staining, old ink library stamp to head of a few leaves, original cloth, gilt, g.e., a little rubbed, small stains to lower cover, rebacked preserving original spine, [Sadleir 51], 4to, 1878.⁂ Account of a trip to Iceland on board the yacht Mastiff, from Wemyss Castle on the Clyde via St.Kilda and the Faroe Islands. It was published by Sir John Burns, owner of the castle and the yacht, as a souvenir of the trip and features Trollope in many of the illustrations and one of the photographs.

Some staining in areas commensurate with use. Minor kiln faults like bubbles. Scratches and markings on the top of the tray and some pieces, in areas removing the paint.

She writes of some members of the Macgregor Clan being frog-marched through Fife to Kennoway, where some of them settled and took the surname of Kennoway, but the Richard Kennoway of the title is Richard Greig, whose ancestors are said to include Sir Samuel Greig, founder of the Imperial Russian Navy, and Edouard Grieg, the famous Norwegian composer. Scottish Wemyss pottery preserve jars and covers, hand painted with plumb's, height 10.5cm and the other with a yellow fruit, height 12cm, painted Wemyss to base CONDITION REPORTPlum preserve jar is in good condition, light crazing to the glaze, small chip / enamel loss to the tip of a leaf. Yellow fruit preserve jar is in good condition, there is a hairline crack from the rim down 5cm, there is also some discolouration to the interior and small patches to exterior, crazing to glaze.
