A UK-market car from 20 years ownership, fastidiously maintained, subtly enhanced and just 17,500 miles. By 1997, rallying had captured the imagination of petrolheads all over the world and Mitsubishi sold 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite son’s four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999 - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Mäkinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force, but the TME had a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension, quicker steering, a different exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. There was a special interior featuring embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw the 0-60mph time down to 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be over 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was now available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Only 250 TMEs (across the five colours) were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese market. Official figures show that of the UK's allocation, only 50 examples were in Canal Blue, perhaps the more discreet colour for a TME.The car presented here is one of those in Canal Blue, so not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition (CP9A/SNGF2) car, but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK and consequently it would have been professionally SVA'd. It's supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and an alternator, plus it is individually numbered with a plaque in the cabin, reading #119.It was supplied new through Ralliart Mitsubishi Motors/Colt Car Company Ltd of Gloucestershire and passed through a few enthusiast owners before being acquired by our vendor in 2004. He had always wanted a TME and bought the best example he could find. It was in superb original condition, with a full-service history and approximately 15,500 miles. Over the last 20 years, remarkably, the car has only covered just over 2,500 miles, yet no expense has been spared on maintenance, servicing, enhancement and care. Just some of the top-quality upgrades include: HKS Silent Hi Power exhaust, Ecutek remap, Walbro fuel pump, Turbosmart EBOOST 2 boost controller & dual port dump valve, AP Racing 6-pot 362mm brake kit and Ultralite ATEC ll alloy wheels. The car has been always garaged and stored on a trickle charger in an insulated private car cave. It's accompanied by its full bookpack including service booklet and numerous invoices for its upgrades and maintenance, giving any potential buyer huge confidence. After many years of diligent ownership, circumstances now mean that the family have to sell this special car and hope it goes to a similarly-minded enthusiast to use and enjoy.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION VL 'TOMMI MAKINEN EDITION' UK-SPECIFICATION CHASSIS #060 Year: 2001 Chassis Number: CP9A0201389 Registration Number: Y232 HEU Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 4G63G0605 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 17541 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: TMEClick here for more details and images

Lot 217

**Please note the car is not fitted with the dog ring gearbox but a CAE short shifter kit fitted by Pro Alfa. **A smart example of Abarth's ultimate FIAT 500 development, the 190bhp 695 Biposto optioned with the £8,500 'Dog Ring' gearbox. In recent years, Abarth has essentially become to FIAT what Alpina is to BMW; a high-performance 'skunkworks' division that takes something good and makes it great. Based on the cute and much-loved 500, the Abarth 500 came first, then the 595 Competizione and finally, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, they launched the 695 Biposto. The Biposto designation comes from the Italian for 'two seats', indicating its focus on performance. The car has gained notoriety for its unique and engaging driving experience and one of its key features was the phenomenally expensive optional 'Dog Ring' gearbox, developed by Bacci Romano. The 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine was lifted straight from Abarth’s 695 Assetto Corsa race car, with a 10bhp power increase over the Abarth 500 and 595 to 190bhp and 184lb/ft of torque. Fitted with an Akrapovic dual-stage exhaust with twin titanium tailpipes, 0-60mph takes just 5.9 seconds on the way to 143mph, retardation is provided by high-performance Brembo brakes and stability is assisted by a mechanical self-locking diff.Visually, the Biposto has a distinctive look with a large rear spoiler, carbon front and rear diffusers, lightweight OZ 18" alloy wheels, a new front bumper, wider arches and new side-skirts. Buyers could have it in any colour they like, as long as it was Matte Performance Grey. The car is incredibly light, weighing in at 974kg dry with the interior being somewhat spartan, with a tiny hint of luxury. It features leather and Alcantara Sabelt Abarth Corsa racing bucket seats with 695 stitching, optional carbon shells, a titanium rear brace by Poggipolini and carbon fibre door panels. No radio or air conditioning with the focus on saving weight. This 2016 example presents incredibly well, arguably even better than new, due to its recently reupholstered interior and is thankfully fitted with the all-important Dog Ring gearbox. It has covered a mere 16,200 miles from new in the hands of its three owners and comes with a full-service history, with another service undertaken to prepare it for sale, along with a fresh MOT. The car is fully ceramic-coated with its callipers re-coloured to the Biposto 220 branding. It’s finished in the usual Matte Grey paintwork with Lime Green details and bronze wheels. The interior has been fabulously upgraded with tan leather seats, the gear shift surround, door cards and carpets and these features make this little pocket-rocket stand out for all the right reasons, as if the £8,500 gearbox wasn’t already enough of a standout feature.Having partaken in just two half-day track sessions, our vendor has shamelessly been bitten by the track day bug and with the Biposto’s bigger Italian brother having already arrived, it is time for the Abarth to find its next home.Presumably due to cost, only a small number ever left the factory with this amazing gearbox, making it a sought after collector's item. So seldom seen in the UK, with examples fetching comfortably north of £35,000 globally, this very attractively priced little Italian jewel could be a fun addition for any Collection or enthusiast.SpecificationMake: ABARTHModel: 695 BIPOSTOYear: 2016Chassis Number: ZFA3120000J375297Registration Number: AP16 ZYFTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 1960160Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 16200 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Tan LeatherClick here for more details and images

Lot 287

UK-specification, low-build number, Passion Red, 39,000 miles, plenty of history, and some discrete upgrades.....the Tommi Mäkinen sweet-spot! By 1997, rallying had captured the imagination of petrol-heads everywhere and Mitsubishi sold 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI arrived and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite son’s four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999 - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Mäkinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force, but the TME had a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension ('tuned to give improved initial response on tarmac surfaces'), quicker steering, a different exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for even better cooling and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. Plus, there was a special interior featuring embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw the 0-60mph sprint obliterated in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be over 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge and only 250 TMEs were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese Market. Official figures show that of the UK's allocation, only 50 examples were in Passion Red, the signature colour for a TME. According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals, known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning these cars were factory-fitted with black door handles (so as to not break the line of the long profile decal). In the world of Mitsubishi aficionados, the consensus is that there were just 212 official factory SCP examples of the TME produced worldwide. The car presented here then is very special indeed. Not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition (CP9A / SNGF2) SCP car (i.e.one of 212) in the signature colour of Passion Red, but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK, hence it would have been professionally SVA'd and is supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and an alternator, plus it is individually numbered with a plaque in the cabin - and not just any number in this case, here it reads #019, making this car a very early-in-the-run UK-market TME - the cars within the first 50 examples are considered to have special designations amongst enthusiasts and collectors. This very special car has covered just 39,000 miles supported by MOT and service records and has had just a handful of owners, the last, our vendor since 2012. It's only been lightly/discretely enhanced, benefitting from an engine tune by Evo specialist, Mark Shead, with a 'conservative' ECU upgrade, anti-lag, AP Racing 6-pot 362mm brake kit and a set of white Compomotive motorsports alloys.Accompanied by a large history file, with many receipts, plus its original and complete book-pack, the car has just had a full cam-belt service and a full MOT as part of its recommissioning, since coming out of storage.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION VL 'TOMMI MÄKINEN EDITION' UK-SPEC CHASSIS #19 Year: 2001 Chassis Number: CP9A0201177 Registration Number: Y19 TME Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AG63BD2420 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 39297 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 212

UK-supplied P1 recently mechanically refreshed and in excellent condition throughout. Built at Subaru's Fuji Heavy Industries plant in Japan and honed by rally royalty, Prodrive, the Impreza P1 was always destined to become the hugely desirable modern classic that we rightfully see it as today. Built in a limited run of just 1,000 cars, every one featured the iconic Blue Mica paintwork, Anthracite 17" OZ racing wheels and a plethora of upgrades and unique features. It's easy to see why the P1 has gained such a cult following.Based on the two-door bodyshell, with aerodynamics enhanced by Peter Stevens of McLaren F1 fame, beefier running gear and a fabulous suspension setup by Prodrive, the P1 has more in common with the legendary Impreza 22B than its larger four-door Impreza WRX contemporaries. Developed with British B-roads in mind, by the very same company which helped the likes of Colin McRae, Petter Solburg and Richard Burns win World Rally Championships, the 'Prodrive One' was intended to counter the wave of grey-import STI Type Rs arriving from Japan.Upgrades to the P1 were extensive, but not intrusive. The list includes a more powerful 280bhp engine (up 69bhp from a standard Impreza Turbo), mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with longer gearing and ABS brakes meaning the difference between a standard Impreza and a P1 is minimal. In addition to the 17" titanium-finish alloy wheels and rally-proven suspension, further upgrades include a big-bore exhaust and a quick-shift gear linkage. This particular UK-registered P1 (#0961/1000) has clearly led a cherished and much cared-for life, presenting superbly as you would expect from one of the most sought after Subaru derivatives. It benefits from a full engine refresh with more recent works noted, including a new Kevlar cambelt, new water pump, rear diff seals, and fresh fluids throughout including the diffs and gearbox, utilising industry-leading Millers Oils products. The braking system has also been flushed and refilled with RBF 600 high-performance fluid with a full four-wheel alignment completed to ensure that everything is pointing in the right direction. To enhance the already impressive specification of the P1, several subtle modifications have been carried out including an uprated turbo, a Roger Clark Motorsport lightened flywheel and pulley set, a front-mounted intercooler and oil cooler, uprated injectors and an uprated 3-point boost solenoid valve. Roger Clark Ltd. also supplied and fitted the first set of DEFi gauges imported into the UK and naturally the engine electronics have been remapped to provide the required synergy between all components. The car is accompanied by an extensive service history with stamped service book, numerous invoices and general paperwork and the original rear light clusters remain with the car and will be handed over to the new custodian on successful purchase. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged.Specification Make: SUBARU Model: IMPREZA P1 Year: 2001 Chassis Number: JF1GM8KDGYG003390 Registration Number: RL51 ZGW Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 902395 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 74812 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Blue / Grey ClothClick here for more details and images

The original 911ST has an interesting history, probably more so due to its genuine competition lineage. During the era of early 911 production, Porsche were continuously developing their road cars for competition, and with great success. Keen to see customers using their cars in the same manner, they created a series of performance accessories that could be ordered directly from the factory to upgrade a standard car either after, or during production. In 1969 a race-oriented version of the 911 was launched known internally as the ST (the name stood for Sport Touring). The original was based on the 911 T with a 2.3 litre engine, whilst the later 2.5 was usually based on the 911S and internally known as the SR, however, most are referred to as a 2.5 ST today.Interestingly, unlike the ‘73 RS that followed, there is no particular defining characteristic for an S/T, each could be made with different combinations of racing components offered by Porsche to suit the intended use. Whether it was for rally or race, your new 911 could be equipped accordingly.S cams would usually be preferred for rallying, whilst peaky 906 cams could be specified for the most powerful short-stroke, twin-plug, fuel-injected 2.5 motors, often producing circa 270BHP+ at 8000 rpm depending on spec and application (track vs rally for example). Impressive stuff for the early Seventies. There were also a number of gearbox options with ratios for different scenarios, as well as plastic and steel fuel tanks, and a host of different other upgrades for racers around the world, and all were detailed together with setup guides for the 911 in the `Sports Purposes` booklet. Sometimes these special components were installed by the factory, and in other cases, they were installed retrospectively by dealers or racing teams. By the early 70s, this allowed privateer teams to compete with effectively works specification cars. Some early examples could be seen sporting Minilite rear wheels instead of the classic 911 Fuchs alloys, and most S/Ts featured a number of thinner steel, aluminium or fibreglass parts to keep weight down, often in different widths and profiles too. That’s what makes it so hard to define an S/T. It’s not a specific set of components, rather a combination of special components. These were race cars that were extensively modified and rebuilt in period without any thought toward their status as future collectables and as such each car is unique. Originally supplied by AFN in the UK, this matching numbers 1971 911T remained in largely original specification but for a restoration in the late 90s, sold to specialist Dave Dennett of DSD Motorwerks in 2010 for conversion into a period specification ST. During the build, any modifications he made were period correct, his aim being to acquire FIA competition papers when completed. This included the steel arches being replicated from period photographs, hand beaten to accommodate 7” x 15” front and 9” x 15” rear wheels, and a lightweight interior being fitted. The original matching numbers engine was retained, however currently fitted, is another engine built from a genuine un- numbered 7R magnesium case. This engine was fully built around these cases to short stroke ST specification. This included the following: Cases shuffle pinned and gas flowed, 2.2 crank 66mm, Porsche S nitride rods, JE pistons, Mahle barrels, twin plug heads with new guides 3 angle valve seat and enlarged ports, titanium valve springs, new race valves, ST twin plug distributor, S specification cams, uprated and rebuilt MFI pump, uprated oil pump, 1”5/8 race headers and lightweight aluminium flywheel. The brakes were upgraded with aluminium RS spec callipers and vented discs all round and period Koni adjustable dampers and uprated roll bars were fitted in addition to the rebuilt suspension. A lightweight clutch was fitted and a Tuthill adjustable pedal box. Wheels are 7×15” refurbished Fuchs on the front and 9”x15” Minilites were fitted on the rear. Also fitted were upgraded Bosch twin fuel pumps, plumbed in fire suppression system and Schroth 5 point harnesses. As is often the case with these projects, it was sold before being totally finished to our vendor in 2019, who has now continued the journey of personalisation to the tune of an additional £150,000, a car than now ‘owes him’ £275,000 and as he states to create this car would be in excess of £350,000 and involve a 2-4 year wait given the names involved in the build.Offered with a history file detailing the build with photographs and documents in a box file full of provenance of the car now and back to the 80’s. The matching numbers 2.2 engine is stored and this and the fibreglass bumper for FIA papers comes with the car, the new owner will need to collect or delivery can be arranged at their cost. The modified Porsche scene is dominated by Singer with its reimagined ST built on a later 964, Tuthill with their interpretation the 911K, in an area that ever popular, enhancing original cars to a period upgraded specification this example sits neatly offering a buyer the opportunity to rub shoulders with the bespoke ‘resto mods’ like Singer. If you are looking for a genuine period car with period `Sports Purposes` upgrades, together with a nicer interior than a stripped-out racer, then this car certainly has a good deal more kudos than a backdated example. If you want to take things a bit more seriously remove the niceties, put the fibreglass panels back on, install a pair of current FIA seats and this car will be ready for the Tour Auto or Modena Cento Ore without the three to four year wait for the build of a car and the expense of over £300k to build the car today. If there was ever having your cake and eating this is it.. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
