Adam Koukoudakis N.M.R.H Death Mask 1, 2022 Graphite, Acrylic and Ink on Paper Signed verso 15 x 10cm (5¾ x 3¾ in.) Adam Koukoudakis   About   Adam hails from South London - a father, painter, illustrator and collagist who studied Fine Art at Chelsea and Berlin Institutes of Art before graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2006. In the same year he was invited to participate in his first post - graduate show with the likes of Banksy et al at Greek Street's then infamous Lazarides Gallery, at a time when it was inspiring a broader movement of artists who blurred the lines between fine art, street art, illustration and graphics. In 2007 he accepted a further invitation to participate in Santa's Ghetto in Bethlehem, before embarking on a busy circuit of national & international shows, projects, publications, collaborations, auctions & private commissions which kept him out of trouble until 2010, when he took a hiatus to enjoy the rewards of fatherhood. Always a painter and lover of collage, Adam found a way to combine the two through his early exposure to screen printing by hijacking the pulling of ink & screen, and instead projecting his screens onto canvas and applying every benday by hand. His paintings and prints have always depicted subjects and topics close to his heart, from early political angst to the unapologetic love of his family and can be found in the permanent collections of the V&A & University of the Arts London, Atlantic Records & Sony BMG. Adam has been a practicing artist for over 20 years, living & with studios based out of North London.   Education   Chelsea College of Arts Central Saint Martins Berlin University of the Arts   Select Exhibitions/Awards   Stench - Lazardies Gallery - London Outside/Inside - Seth Carmichael Gallery - Los Angeles Santa's Ghetto - Palestine Geisterfahrer - Paintworks - Bristol TEMWA - Art for Africa Charity Auction - London/Bristol Shortlisted Finalist - National Open Art Competition - Chichester Shortlisted Finalist - Mercury Prize Art Competition - The Hospital - London Winning Finalist - Jealous Needs You Prize - Jealous Gallery - London   Gallery Representation   Jealous Gallery Smithson Gallery Paxton Glew   Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork   The works I have submitted are my way of marking the death of Queen Elizabeth II They are a very loose play on the history of the death mask & are no way intended as an insult or mark of disrespect in her direction. Although I am a firm believer that there is never smoke without fire. Message from Art On A Postcard: Please do not bid if you intend to sell on the artwork. All artworks have been generously donated by the artists to raise money for The Hepatitis C Trust and when work is sold on the secondary market, it damages our relationship with the artist and prevents us from fundraising
