WAYNE JOHN: (1907-1979) American Actor, Academy Award winner. A large folio printed cover for a menu from Maxim's restaurant in the Sony Building, Tokyo, featuring a typically Belle Epoque printed colour image of diners and waiters by the French caricaturist Georges Goursat (Sem), signed and inscribed by Wayne in black ink to the verso, 'Eddie, Good Luck, John Wayne' and dated 23rd March 1974 in another hand, and again signed and inscribed by Wayne in black ink to the recto, 'Ed - Day after tomorrow, Good Luck, again, John Wayne' and dated 25th March 1974 in another hand. A third signature and inscription by Wayne appears at the head of the recto, although was written with a pen running out of ink and is barely visible. The menu also bears a few other signatures by other individuals including the opera singer Anna Moffo, most dated between 1972-74. STARSHIP TROOPERS (1997) - Federation Corvette Transport Model Miniature and Rodger Young Printed Drafting A Federation Corvette Transport model miniature and printed drafting from Paul Verhoeven’s sci-fi action film Starship Troopers. Named after famed visual-effects artist Greg Jein, this Corvette miniature is made of resin and styrene. Constructed by Sony Pictures Imageworks 'Thunderstone model shop, the miniature has been outfitted with fibre optic cabling which illuminates the ships damage from the Battle of Klendathu. The piece is painted Army green with dark shading around the production distressing, and includes the UCF ID number 193 on both sides of the front of the ship. The model includes a support beam fixed to the side of the ship where it was mounted during production. Paired with the model are two pieces of printed drafting of the Rodger Young Corvette Transport. The drafting shows the famed ship from all angles, with each piece of drafting made of two pages taped together at the centre. The set shows minor wear due to production use and age, but remains in fine condition.
