A Vatican Medal, Pope Clemens PPVII, conjoined heads, thick flan, AE Some with original tickets Charles Pooley Wilson was born in India, his father was serving as an officer in the Indian Army. His mother and a number of brothers died of cholera roundabout 1841. Shortly after this he was sent home to England with a younger sister for education. After spending a number of years at Rugby school, he sat and passed the entrance exam at fifteen (1852) to get commissioned a mid-shipman in the Indian navy, returning to England after ten years when the Indian navy was disbanded in 1862. The following ten years were spent with Lloyds Salvage Association which involved reporting on shipwrecks and reorganising the marine department for the Board of Trade. He spent the rest of his career with the BOT until retiring in 1903.

Two Royal Copenhagen Parian circular plaques, late 19th Century, probably after Thorvaldsen, the first relief decorated with a man and two children, the second a woman and two children, each within a laurel frame, blue wave marks to bases with impressed `Eneret`, diameter approx 13.3cm (one repaired).
A Royal Copenhagen porcelain vase, the spherical body decorated with white lilies against a shaded blue ground, underglaze blue wave mark with green printed, painted and incised marks to base, height approx 12.5cm, together with five other pieces of Royal Copenhagen and a Bing & Grondahl porcelain model of a kingfisher (small chip to square dish).
